Eisteddfod 2024All the children came to school in their House colours, representing Alun, Ceiriog, Gwenfro and Dyfi. They all participated in the school Eisteddfod reciting Welsh poems and singing Welsh songs. We are very proud of all their hard work and they were proud to perform infront of the Chair of Governors, Mrs Madoc-Jones who came along to judge the competition. Ardderchog to Ceiriog who were the overall winners of the competitions. Great work from everyone who took part.

We had a special visitor in school - Children's author Neil Griffiths. He engaged the children by bringing to life some of the characters from his stories. Neil loves to tell a story and storytime with him was a highly entertaining event as he magically drew his audience into his storyworlds. A very entertaining afternoon.

Cooking ClubChildren and their family took part in learning new skills in Family Learning Cooking Class this week. As you can see they had lots of fun.

Deeside Gymnastics FestivalChildren from Year 5 & 6 took part in a Gymnastics festival hosted by Dragon Sports. They had the oppotinunity to try out a range of different gymnastic activities and perfom a sequence. One person said " it's been better than football !" so that tells you how much they enjoyed it. We even came away with medals. Da iawn pawb.

We had visitors today!!

Special VisitorsWe had a visit from some very special visitors today. They took time out of their very busy schedule (especially at this time of year) to come and see the children. The children were very excited and were able to touch and feed the reindeer. Thank you to Christmas Farm UK, Wrexham who brought the reindeers to school.

School Choir - visitThe school choir visit and sing Christmas Carols to residents of Hollybank Care Home and Llys Eleanor. The children really enjoyed their visits and helped to bring happines to the residents. They are looking forward to visiting again in the New Year to spend time reading to the resisdents.

Cyber FraudChildren visited a local primary school and participated in a presentation about Cyber Fraud and how they can stay safe whilst using the internet. Lots of important messages were shared and the children discussed them back in class with their peers. A very useful morning.

Christmas FayreA very busy and successful Christmas Fayre. Thank you to Friends of Ty Ffynnon and all the staff that stayed behind to make it such a successful event. Everyone had a great time with lots of prizes to be won and games to play.

Christmas Jumper Day
Blwyddyn 5 had the opportunity to take part in developing their First Aid skills. Whilst having lots of fun they also learnt essential life skills.

Chester ZooAll of the children and staff had a great day at Chester Zoo. They got to ride on the Lazy River, visit the Jaguar house and see the new Jaguar. They even managed to see the Red Pandas !! These are just a few of the many pictures of the day.

Children in Need 2023Children came to school today dressed in their pyjamas, onesies and oodies to support Children in Need. We raised in excess of £350. Thank you for all your donations to a very worthy cause.

Wellbeing ShowAs part of our Wellbeing development all the Junior children watched a video 'How are you?' The aim of the video was to show children the importance of sharing their feelings and knowing that it is okay to talk about their feelings.
Year 5 visit Connahs QuayAll year 5 children had the opportunity to vist Connahs Quay HIgh School. The took part in a rang of creative art activities including; circus skills, art skills, making masks, Harry Potter wands and many other activities. They all had a great time and shared a performance on the last day.

Sustainability WeekJunior children have been working hard in the Community Garden this week - preparing all the beds ready for planting in the Spring. Great teamwork everybody.

Amazing Performance - Urdd |
What an amazing performance from the Undod performers, at the Eisteddfod Yr Urdd 2023 in the Dawns Hip-Hop Grwp Bl.6 ac iau catergory. The children were amazing and were placed 2nd, competing against performers from all over Wales. We are all immensley proud of the children and Miss Jones for all their hard work. A huge THANK YOU to all the parents who came along to support the children.

Sioe Ffasiwn CymraegTo celebrate the end of Sustainability week - children worked in groups to create an upcyled fashion garment from recycled clothing. Each group came up with some very imaginative ideas with a Welsh theme. The groups then showed their design accompanied by Welsh music, to the rest of the school using the 'catwalk' and their welsh language to share their ideas. Ardderchog to everyone who took part.
