Dear parents / carers
I hope you all had a lovely Easter and a restful break from daily school routine. We have welcomed three new Early Entitlement children to school this week and all three appear to have settled in well.
Congratulations are in order once again to the Eco committee and Mrs Keenan for ensuring we have renewed our Platinum Award for this year. This is the highest possible accolade for the school which has to be reviewed annually ensuring that we have met our targets and maintained all the work previously completed. We first received this in 2017. Please see comments below from the assessor.
It was lovely to see so many of you at Dosbarth Dyfrgi’s assembly this morning who were sharing their work with everyone. Da iawn pawb!
Also, today the girls participated in the girls’ football at Deeside Leisure Centre and had a great time.
The next meeting for Friends of Tŷ Ffynnon will be on Monday 15th April at 5.30pm – in the school’s Community Room. All welcome – always looking for eager volunteers for the benefit of your children.
Parents evening will take place on Tuesday 16th April from 3.15pm and the Nursery parents’ afternoon will be on Monday 15th April from 1pm.

Eco-Schools Platinum Award Renewal - Eco-Schools Green Flag:
7th Platinum Renewal has been successful – assessor’s comments:
I am pleased to see that the Eco-Schools process is still running effectively at Ysgol Tŷ Ffynnon and that you have continued to progress with new projects and ideas. It was a pleasure reading about your recent range of actions to reduce waste and increase recycling throughout the school site, along with the admirable commitment of the Eco-Committee to take responsibility for helping to manage the recycling collections, ensuring the process runs smoothly. It was also great to read your current Action Plan to learn that many already established actions are maintained and have progressed, in particular the increase in learners are arriving to school more actively and sustainably. I am delighted to confirm that you have retained your Platinum Eco-Schools status and wish you every success with this year’s projects. Maintaining the Eco-Schools Platinum status is a fantastic achievement. The school, staff and pupils, should feel proud of their hard work and commitment.
Parking – please may I remind you again that you park your vehicle with due care and attention to our neighbours within the community. Please do not block driveways or park on double yellow lines.
Thank you to those who always show consideration to others.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will see you all on Monday
Gobeithio y cewch benwythnos hamddenol, a welai chi gyd Dydd Llun.
Yours sincerely / Yn gywir,
Mrs N Goldsmith
