Ysgol Ty Ffynnon are the first school in Wales to be awarded the 'ADHD Friendly School' Award from the ADHD Foundation. High praise in the Sennedd, from previous Education Minister, Kirsty Williams and Jack Sargeant MS. Pupils, parents, teachers and the wider community can be proud of Ysgol Ty Ffynnon leading the way in Wales providing array of support structures and strategies to ensure children with ADHD can access the curriculum fully and are happy and achieving at school. Cymraeg Arian
Today we received our framed certificate for Gwobr Arian – Silver Award after our assessment last week!! We are very pleased and the staff and children who contributed to its success are very excited about the achievement – well done - although it is a whole school effort. We are in the top 5 schools in North Wales to receive this award and the first large school in Flintshire - what an achievement! Llongyfarchiadau pawb!
At the Theatre
The scholars taking part in the DUETS - Ballet Cymru performance at Theatr Clwyd (Mold) have been working hard on developing their skills. They had a fantastic opportunity to perform at Theatr Clwyd before the Ballet Cymru troupe, as part of the Dreams performance based on Shakespeare's Play - A Midsummer's Night Dream. Parents and children involved really enjoyed the experience.

A Proud Moment
Another proud moment for Ysgol Ty Ffynnon - a year 3 pupil who has only been learning to play the violin for the past year was placed 2nd in the Eisteddfod held at Denbigh. She competed against others, many of whom were much older. We are all so very proud of her - Ardderchog.

Free School Meals

Following the recent announcement by Welsh Government on the phased implementation we can advise that in Flintshire we will be looking to commence provision of universal primary free school meals to all reception year children from September 2022. Our aim is then to extend universal primary free school meals to all children in years 1 and 2 at the start of the summer term in 2023. In addition, to help us plan effectively, we are seeking feedback from parents of local primary aged children. To capture this we have created a survey, completion of which is anonymous.
