Creative Arts Project
Dosbarth Ceirw
Over the past 6 weeks, children from Dosbarth Ceirw have been working with two practitioners on a Creative Arts Project. The aim of the project was to help develop the children's oracy skills. They shared with parents some of the activities that they had been working on. They have worked very hard and were extremely proud to share all of their work.
Neil Griffiths - Author
We had a special visitor in school - Children's author Neil Griffiths. He engaged the children by bringing to life some of the characters from his stories. Neil loves to tell a story and storytime with him was a highly entertaining event as he magically drew his audience into his storyworlds. A very entertaining afternoon.
Machynlleth here we come.......
Well done to our girls who have made it through to the finals of the Urdd, which will be held in Machynlleth. A big thank you to Miss Jones who has worked tirelessly with the girls since last years competition - all the hard work has paid off. Thank you for all the parents and staff who came along to support the children we really do appreciate it.
Urdd Eisteddfod (1st round)
We are so very proud of ALL the children who took part in the Urdd Eisteddfod (1st Round) held at Ysgol Bryn Coch. Everyone has worked extremely hard and their performances were really good. Well done to the reciting party who have got through to the next round, and congratulations to our year 4 pupil who will also be competing in two weeks time. A big thank you to Mrs Drew for working so hard with all of the children to get them to such a high standard. Thank you to all the staff and parents who came along to support the children.
Eisteddfod 2024
All the children came to school in their House colours, representing Alun, Ceiriog, Gwenfro and Dyfi. They all participated in the school Eisteddfod reciting Welsh poems and singing Welsh songs. We are very proud of all their hard work and they were proud to perform infront of the Chair of Governors, Mrs Madoc-Jones who came along to judge the competition. Ardderchog to Ceiriog who were the overall winners of the competitions. Great work from everyone who took part.
