Year 3, 4 & 5 children attended a St David's Day celebration for Shotton and Connahs Quay School, organised by Menter Iaith at the Civic Hall. As you can see the children had a great time.
Many thanks to Shotton Town Council and Excell Supply for giving the pupils of Ysgol Ty Ffynnon 'FREE' water bottles to encourage all children to avoid using plastics. Every child in the school will be given a re-usable water bottle as part of our ECO committment to reduce the use of plastics. This is something that the children and staff are keen to support.

New Wildlife Area |
The wildlife area is in the process of being developed. As you know this is possible due to our successful Big Lottery Bid, endorsed by local MP Mark Tami. Simon and his workers are progressing well with help from the children, although leaving the heavy work to Simon. Local residents are also invited to use the raised beds, enabling this to be a Community focused project.

Ysgol Ty Ffynnon were extremely fortunate to have the renowned Welsh actor - Llion Williams performing in school. We were the host school for an event that is part of the Welsh Charter where the Welsh Government want a million Welsh speakers by 2050.
Llion performed 'Taith yr iaith' - promoting the journey of the Welsh Language. Teaching Assistants and Mid-day Assistants had the special opportunity to watch him, they are now keen to develop their Welsh language skills throughout the school. And as you can see a couple of children managed to sneak in too!! |

Continuing with the money from the Lottery Funding BId, Junior children have been working with Simon on clearing and developing the nature area. They worked very hard , raking and clearing the area. Da iawn pawb.
